Alleviated major depression and extreme anxiety (have suffered from both for years) once it was brought up to 60 mg twice daily along with 0.5 Alprazolam up to 4 times daily, also used over a period of years. I had been on just about every antidepressant except Prozac through the years. Briefly helped with hip and knee pain but stopped after a few weeks. So far (4 years) it's worked great w ... Maybe I haven't been on it long enough, but the first side effect I noticed was very severe constipation, other side effects I don't like is that I felt much more anxious, increased heart rate, feel more suicidal than before, I don't think this drug is for me. I also feel more aggressive and feel like being mean to people. called my Dr. to see what I should do. I actually feel more d ... Show Full Comment

My doctor then switched me to Cymbalta with the dose goin ... Show Full Comment

I have taken this medication for about 5 years. I have been on a lot of anti depression meds (prozac, effexor, and prozac), and this one worked best. My only side effect is my blood pressure is way to low, and this only started in the last 3 months. I have to be taken of slowly which is hard cause the withdrawal symptoms are not fun. I will be starting a new medication soon.

Don't know why this drug didn't work for me but (I've been on Paxil, lexapro, Zoloft, and Prozac) I had THE WORST orthostatic hypotension. It got so bad I had to go to emergency room because I was "greying out" every time I got up. Had horrible withdrawals as well when stopping this drug. It may work for YOU but BE CAREFUL PLEASE!
